Overview
Designed for long-term, permanent, archival storage of electronic records or data; HP StorageWorks Optical Jukeboxes provide easy compliance for today's various regulatory requirements. HP Optical Jukeboxes, combined with 30 GB per disk Ultra Density Optical (UDO) technology, also provide a cost-effective means for achieving compliance.

Optical Jukeboxes provide coverage from the small business customer all the way up to the enterprise customer. Now with storage capacities from 30 GB in a standalone desktop product and 1.0 to 7.1 TB in jukeboxes, HP is able to provide most customers with a capacity point to meet their needs. This increase in capacity has brought the cost per gigabyte down by more than 75% when compared with Magneto-Optical! Additionally, the ability to have a mixed-drive solution in both the mid-range and high-end allows customers with legacy Magneto-Optical media to still read their old media yet take advantage of the new, higher capacity UDO drives and media. All jukeboxes will have Low Voltage Differential SCSI (LVDS) interfaces and the ability to connect to fibre via fibre-to-SCSI router solution. Upgrade and conversion kits will also be available.
