FORMit also offers extensive database capabilities to collect, organize, and query your data without the need for any custom programming or server-side scripting. FORMit allows the user to map the fields of a form to an existing ODBC-compliant database; it even allows you to create your own database.

AnyDoc Software also offers DESIGNitT software for users who want to create professional-quality paper forms for later data extraction.

For OCR for AnyDocT users, DESIGNit also automatically creates zoned templates to give you a good head start when processing completed forms. Now when you design a paper form, you are simultaneously designing a template to extract the data.

Who uses FORMitT?

Anyone interested in designing custom forms wants FORMit to easily create order forms, credit applications, invoices, medical questionnaires, insurance claims, government forms, and many others. All forms created with FORMit can be printed for distribution, created as a PDF file, and/or posted to the Internet. If you choose to print them FORMit has already created extraction zones for processing with OCR for AnyDoc. If you choose to post them on the Internet, FORMit can link to any ODBC-compliant database to store your on-line collected input.

FORMit is equipped with a wide range of formatting options. These options allow you to design a professional quality form. Not only will you be able to create a form that portrays the image you would like, it also allows you to design a form people will want to fill out.

When designing a form, one of the most important aspects of form design is understanding the type of data you need to capture. With FORMit, you are able to set up the fields on your form and define the rules for each field. You can even optimize your form for the capture of machine-printed data, hand-printed data, or both. The collection of hand-printed data is easy when you define constrained text boxes for these fields.

Rules become helpful when you know the specific type of data you're looking to capture. With FORMit you can establish rules for data collection. An example here may be a social security number. In this case the form designer would establish a rule for this field that would require the input of a nine digit, numeric value. A benefit of establishing a rule within FORMit is it only needs to be created once, it's automatically applied across all data collection environments.

Form designers also have complete flexibility to customize the functionality of their forms. Fields can be designed to contain general information or they can be specified to contain data that falls into a predefined range. (Rules) Calculations can run automatically or only after certain events, this customization can be executed through the use of VBScript. (Visual Basic Scripting) VBScript is a powerful addition to FORMit. VBScript is an industry standard language; therefore you do not have to be concerned with the use of any proprietary languages. Again, with a simple point and click you build your VBScript. With VBScript, there are no limits to what you can do with your form. Quite simply, it allows you to, validate data; you can even control the flow of the form.

In addition to VBScript, FORMit is also equipped with several advanced features. These include automatic messaging, customized database creation, transaction archive, and return receipt.

Form consistency is important. FORMit has a built in library called the Component Gallery that allows you to standardize form components that may be used at a later date. Images can also be imported and placed onto a form. Again with FORMit, these appealing forms need only to be designed once, and they are transferable across environments. Formatting options within FORMit include lines, boxes, circles, arcs (all of any thickness), text and text formatting, tables, mark sense or check boxes, bar codes, drop down lists, and buttons.

Database connectivity is another feature of FORMit. In a production environment, saving keystrokes is paramount. With FORMit's database connectivity, this objective is easily achieved. When connected to a database, you can select from a list of valid entries and retrieve all of the relevant data associated with that entry. You not only get quick, accurate data; this is where you save keystrokes. You can connect your form to one or more databases. It can then be used as a query and retrieval tool on either your network or on the Internet, and you can even delete or update the information as needed.
